In 1982, during a bout with cancer, I learned that God truly has all things in control and that He cares even when we doubt that He does.

When Christ renamed Simon and called him Peter, i.e.; “Rock.” Christ views us in terms of our potential and doesn’t over focus on our weaknesses and limitations.

What I want my legacy to be

I desire to raise up godly generations within my own family.

Person who had a significant impact on my life

Dr John F. Gates, Chairman of the Philosophy department at Crown College. He believed in me and inspired me to wholeheartedly pursue knowledge and wisdom.

People would be surprised to know that…

I sold books door-to-door during college and seminary during the summers in Mississippi, Delaware, and Arkansas.

Family

I am married to Lin. We have two daughters, Stephanie and Lindsay, and three grandchildren - Ella, Jonah and Collin.
