Changing to the English Standard Version (ESV)
The elders of Journey Christian Church have decided that we should transition from the New International Version (NIV), which has dominated the pulpit and teaching for some years, to the English Standard Version (ESV) as our primary translation for preaching and for most adult and youth education. We now have new “pew bibles” in coordination with this change.
There are a number of good translations that we have used in the past and that are used by people who come to Journey Christian Church. Other translations will continue to be used in some areas of Journey. For example, our Children's Ministry will often use the NIV because of its use in curriculum that we purchase.
